Our friends, Drone University USA, in Sacramento County, California, are doing incredible work to support job creation. Most recently, they were featured in a wonderful news segment, HERE, with KCRA Channel 3.
Students at the Sacramento County-based Drone University USA can take courses in thermal imaging -- important training for using a drone in rescue operations.
The drone courses can be pathways for new careers in everything from real estate photography to roof inspections.
"You used to have to be on a roof to inspect it," Lautrup said. "Now, you can do it on the ground, much safer. It creates a lot of jobs."
Under the new regulations, commercial drones under 55 pounds can fly up to 400 feet in altitude during daylight hours. The FAA predicts the job market will explode with new growth.
The job creation in the United States is significant in the area of unmanned systems. One projections states, "... it could be something as big as $80 billion into the economy over the next five to 10 years and 100,000 jobs coming out of it too," Drone University USA CEO Barry Morris said. “So, it's huge.”
